JEREMY DURAND
Photographer, documentary filmmaker, author and farmer. Since 2014, I travel around the world in order to discover different breeds of horses in their natural environment : Camargue, Vercors, Morocco, Scotland, Mexico, New Forest... A project that started in the middle of winter when a three weeks old foal confidently laid down on my knees and fell asleep.
Through my photographs, I want to explore the sensitive border between human kind and animals. Portraits, scenes of their daily life or wonderful landscapes are visual testimonies of our similarities and differences with horses. Humans and horses have such a rich common history that each region of the world have its own horse breeds. Photographying horses then becomes a way to discover the culture and caracteristics of many communities.
Today, beyond photography, horses take a major place in my life and the one of my wife, Gwladys Lecarpentier, long-distance rider and horse 'whisperer'. Together, we founded Le Mas de Peyrelongue, in le Lot. One horse farm where we warmly welcome you for your riding holidays and to share with you our passion, our lifestyle and a place like no others...
